Dr. Kirby Kennedy
Senior Pastor
Dr. Kirby Kennedy came to our church in June, 2018 from Palatka, Florida, where he served as Senior Pastor for five years. Previous to that, he pastored three churches in New Mexico and one in the Seattle area. He has been a pastor for more than 35 years.
With a rich heritage in the faith, Dr. Kennedy was born in Sidney, Nebraska, where his father was a church planter. Across the years, he has been heavily involved in denominational work, including his role as Trustee of Gateway Baptist Theological Seminary and his leadership on National, State Convention and Associational committees.
Dr. Kennedy has been involved in the leadership of the communities he has served with a desire to create a better environment for and encourage the meeting of needs of the people of those communities.
Dr. Kennedy’s education in the ministry includes a BA from Wayland Baptist University, as well as Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
His hobbies include golf, baseball and rock-collecting.
Happily married for more than 33 years, Dr. Kennedy and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters, Sarah and Laura.
